“Line” result from my construction of the relationship between myself and this city. The red threads piercing and intervening in the black-and-white photos represent my attempt to interpret the web of telephone and electric lines in the old districts as the Chinese symbolic totem of the “red line.” These crisscrossing networks serve as a visual medium for traditional community interpersonal relationships. In today’s rapidly developing society, human interactions mirror the fate of these networks. As communities restructure, connections go underground and wireless, turning mutual engagements into formulaic exchanges and a mature form of indifference.
《連》所呈現的畫面是被我構建出我與這個城市之間關係的結果。紅色的絲線在黑白畫面中穿刺和介入，是我嘗試詮釋舊區中的線網如同中國象徵圖騰「紅線」。縱橫交錯的線網正好是傳統社區人際關係的視覺化媒介，在發展一日千里的現今社會中，人與人之間的互動恰如這些線網的將來，面臨社區重整的地下化及無線化，人際間彼此的互動正變得制式化及轉變成一種成熟的冷漠。
