Shine on You Crazy Dimond

At the end of 2019, I was in the encampment of the northeast China. I was driving and do-ing photography along with the Yalu River, a river that acts as a natural boundary.

The view of the river was filmed along the road trip, and I saw another country on the opposite shore of the river. Therefore, I went to North Korea for filming. For a long time, I’ve been interested in the definition of the boundary. The filming during the journey and the collected historic pictures of the Yalu River boundary generate resonance with new contemporary images.

The series of “Shine on You Crazy Dimond” filmed sights and still life that based on natural boundary of the Yalu River, which are in correspondence with the images of visiting North Korea. However, the form of coexisted coordination and disharmony has created a superexcellent sight convergence point.

Born in 1984 in Taipei, Taiwan. Freelance photographer, Currently based in Taipei, Taiwan.

Most of my previous works are direct snapshots into the flashes of private life, which enables me to explore how personal emotion responds to the changes of time. The blurred and sparkling image mimicking the experience of a quick glance,My goal is to make photographs that draw viewers into the now. A focus on details keeps us in the present, it stops us from fretting on the future or regretting the past.

My recent work focuses on man-made landscape, capturing the relocation of the artificial environment as an ongoing background. Perhaps the meaning of identity is something more than an origin, it can also be the progress of locating ourselves and, adapting to the processes accordingly.
